A splash of Panache!

Panache!Panache! is a vocal ensemble comprised of six women who share a deep appreciation of music. We hail from all over Canada and are glad to have found each other.  Our group includes three Prairie girls, a Maritimer and two Islanders.  Outside of singing we have varied careers in education, administration, engineering and occupational therapy.

Why “Panache”?
'Panache' is a word of French origin that literally means “plume” such as is worn on a hat or helmet.   The historical reference is to King Henri IV of France who was a brave military leader.  Famed for wearing a striking white plume in his helmet, his war cry was "Follow my white plume!" ("Ralliez-vous à mon panache blanc"). Today, ‘panache’ has come to mean a style with flair and verve.

We love to call ourselves "Panache!" and have adopted the ‘panache’ (plume) as part of our logo.   Inspired by the plume, we offer our love of singing and gift of music as we strive to live up to our name which to us means energy, elegance and spirit.
